  1. Tell her who must be obeyed that I don`t do this for everyone ☺️ Anymore to her majesties liking?
  2. BTW forgot to mention, that guy who is rolling around laughing was on Cromer pier, he used to work for Canon so I asked him if he Knew Barry Beckham and has he seen your work, with that he burst into laughter and has never been the same sinceπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Take Care Mate (I`m still in touch with BJ at times BTW) Dave
  3. Well tell her who must be obeyed to take those designer sun glasses offπŸ˜‚ and it`s very true that I don`t know my way around PS like yourself but of course that`s because I rarely need to delve because I usually produce a finished image in the shooting stage πŸ˜€ The revolution came with the Canon 1DSmk1 that had 11 million pixels IMHO but boy did that sensor attract the dust spots or what. Anyway, watch out for those Crocs (is that why I don`t see any low angle shots from you nowdays)😏 Dave
  4. Thanks Joan, it was actually quite dark so much so that I couldn`t find my way back indoors after πŸ˜€ I`ll have another look at it but sometimes you loose the feeling of the moment if you make things look too natural. I have cataracts so it might be me keeping the brightness down for comfort whilst processing ( not that I have to do much in the way of processing πŸ˜‚) Take Care Dave

    Confused

Your confused? join the club (no pun intended) wait till you are my age, you don`t know what confused is yet 😒 I go into a room and can`t remember why I came in and what I came in for and then i can`t remember where I came from😁 Photography seems to be more about equipment that shooting images and capturing the moment. In some of the forums they go on about "should I use a filter or carry spare batteries etc etc" Don`t get me wrong, as you know I love the equipment side of the hobby but buying stuff just to have it seems to be the new trend I`m afraid and some people haven`t got a clue how to use all the features and spend their time trying to find their way around the camera as the photo opportunities pass them buy. When we were judging it was just so exciting seeing lots of really great images but times have changed for sure Becks. do you remember at the club one night, I was judging and someone presented a print mounted on the back of a Kelloggs conflake packet? As I remember it was a decent image but I refused to mark it. Dave
  6. Not so much of the Pillock please 😁 (I remember when I had to introduce you to PS) Do I remember telling you that IR doesn`t work around the sea ??? you sure you didn`t dream that? I was shooting IR when you still had a Nikon 900 😘 (remember those superb little cameras Beck?) Just for that you can have a couple of images I shot late afternoon here today. Hope you are keeping well mate (and don`t forget that mat spray on your bonce otherwise it affects every ones exposure in the area πŸ˜‹ Give my regards to her who must be obeyed AT ALL TIMES Dave
  7. It` been up to 15c here for over a week now so walks up at the beach and countryside have been in order. I am considering having another camera converted to IR because my present fuji XM1 doesn`t have a viewfinder so I am using a Hoodman to hold against the screen to cut the light out. I`ve also been using my 50mm f2 fuji lens( 75mm equi 35mm) as well as my 14mm 2.8 (equi 21mm in35mm). the 50mm is a superb lens for IR and gives a bit more reach when needed. Not been much snow around this year but at least the heating costs are kept low. 😁 now that we have high speed fibre lets see if we can upload a few images.

    The walk to the beach

At least I have a few inches of hair to cushion the blow πŸ˜‚ you could adapt a white card on your head as a fill light 🀣 OK, I`ll look up Tulips and see if anything matches!!! The weather has gone mad around the world Becks, we have had probably the hottest long spell of weather for many a year. It has now cooled down a bit and at least night sleeping is better. If the weather gets any worse in Aus then don`t think your coming back to annoy us!!! Catch you later and give Carol my best (put your high heels on Becks and walk up and down her back πŸ˜€ like you used to do for me 🀐 (anyone reading this then don`t think we don`t like each other, if we didn`t joke with each other then I would think something has gone wrong) Dave ( the one that showed the master PS)
  9. Hiya, haven`t been on for a while but had a 20ft fall and broke a small bone in my right foot but now mending been out and about shooting images. I quite liked this shot that got decent marks on a recent forum. You can see a larger copy on the following link , there a number of my latest images there as well if you click through the gallery. BTW the unknown flower came up in the gravel in our front drive from nowhere, I`ve picked out some flowers very similar but can`t find one with such lush leaves. Anyone? Return to Infrared

That looks like a magic moment Doreen, well done πŸ˜‰ Be careful walking where those dear have been, we get them in our field out back and my wife picked up a tick on her leg and contracted Lymes decease ☹️ I`m told that it`s dear that pass it onto the ticks in the first place.

    Return to Infrared

I`m not using my 27" monitor , it`s indoors in my study. I`m just using a 24". I work in my radio shack and what with the electric bikes and all the amateur radio gear space is tight. I never put my images on any forum, just the web site. My internet speed stuck out in the country is so slow and I just upload a series before going to bed :-) although they are preparing fibre in the village so things might change soon. I do save at least one file at 1920 for making Av`s though. Same old same old, if you want peace and quiet then and enjoy the beautiful walks around here and to ride your bike with no traffic then things like gas, pubs and main drainage have to be done without I`m afraid. Re viewing images on p base, I suppose it depends on your monitor res cos they fill the screen here. I have the dreaded cataract in my only good eye so that affects my viewing and I have the res up a bit. hope all is well your end, beautiful weather here for a change. I`ve got to shoot up to our village church and shoot the interior now for the garden open day brochure (that should be fun) BTW although I set "notify me of replies" I seem to be being ignored for some reason. (is it something I said ?) :-)

    Return to Infrared

Hiya Advance Camera Repairs of Watton in Norfolk, I have in the past sent cameras to the States (Lifepixel) they do a great job but with import duties etc it works out quite expensive. Advance has done a great job on my fuji, focus is superb and everything worked fine even IR video. It worked out around Β£300 with P&P. Dave

    Return to Infrared

Hiya all, been a while since I was on these forums. after having shot images of everything that moves or doesn`t move within a sensible area where i live and then shooting some 4K video I decided (after selling my Infrared cameras) to have a small inexpensive camera converted. It`s the 16 mega pixel fuji XM1. I have been using mainly my 14mm 2.8 lens (equi 21mm in 35mm terms) because there are no hot spots that I can see. The camera does not have a viewfinder so I have been using a Hoodman loupe just pressed against the lcd screen and held in place just by pressure from my spectacles. So, i thought i need to do something different or my interest will wane. so, for the last month or so I have been shooting Infrared with my converted camera at 720nm, almost pure b&w with just a touch of colour although the sensor does pick up blue now and then but mainly yellow and normally I convert to mono and then just add a touch of colour to one or two items in the image. As Barry has explained in his intro video it is very simple to get decent results in dull or bright sunny conditions and I always bracket three shots (sometimes changing the + or minus depending on the outcome.) Anyway, take a look and don`t be afraid to leave comments (good or bad) Galleries HERE Dave

Getting the very best from Fuji Cameras

I thought Brian had finally bought out Iridient developer for windows but I gather you mean X transformer? Try using PSCC with the iridient X transformer files, there really are only a few clicks needed. I have LR but being the cheaper program it can IMHO show why they give it away free with PS. Welcome to the forum and if you want to really get to know processing of images just ask Becks the site owner, he has a myriad of tutorials (but don`t tell him I said he was good or he won`t be able to get through the door

Getting the very best from Fuji Cameras

I view my images in Breeze Browser, that gives me an idea of what will be good. I then convert my raw files in Iridient X transformer and open in PSCC camera raw. Iridient settings are raw options more detail sharpness default (turn off LR sharpening) DNG baseline sharpen tag high Colour noise reduction default (turn off LR colour noise reduction lens correction apply all (distort, vig, chroma) DNG options 16 bit largest with lossless comp j peg preview high pass through All in PS Camera raw clarity between 25-40 depending C raw sharpening 25 obviously I tweak at times but I`m quite happy with the results And yes I keep in the camera sharpness to minus. Do I ever see the worms? sort off some times but in prints of 16x12 or full screen AV`s 1920x1080 @72dpi the images look superb. If you look at this image on a 24" screen before sized for p base at 100% you would really have to pixel peep to see anything untoward. would i like to be able to count each individual leaf or blade of grass? yes of course but maybe one day http://www.pbase.com/davechilvers/image/165307057 Dave
