I agree and it’s time the photographic world kept up with progress. 😂 I think it was only last Tuesday that they all finally accepted Digital 😂😂

People seem reluctant to make comment in these Politically Correct days. They don’t feel able or willing to comment with some saying it’s because they don’t make AV and they feel unqualified to comment themselves It’s a bit odd, because we don’t make feature films, but we feel ok giving an opinion on those. Members Evening Why 1600*1200, why not full HD 1920*1080. You can use full size images to make your show and publish it to a 60p Mp4 HD video. Quality is superb and it will play OK on an older club laptop. It will play on a smart TV, Mac’s and is perfect for YouTube and posting the YouTube link here

This is going to sound really lame, but I can’t remember. Someone on line introduced me to the software and I’m sure these images were created from a trial version, but for the life of me I can’t now recall.

I seem to recall it being a bit of fun at the time to create the fractal images, but disappointed when the exe file size of the resulting slide show was huge. I guess caused by the content of the images. Re-vamping some old work is all I have the time for at the moment.

This slide show was created ages ago and I don't think it was fully published. The file size at the time it was created was huge in the days when an average show was just 10-15mb. The 5:4 AR and size gives away its age, but worth a view perhaps. I've re-published this show via PTE - 10 Beta 11

    Shoreline

I don’t have a great deal of time for anything new right now, but there are a few old slide shows that are not posted on the new site. So, I’m gradually looking through them and any I think are worthy of another view, I’ll Update them to 60p videos. Yes, it is a distraction and it doesn’t take too much effort. Not sure I have much of that right now I like the shoreline and I can easily lose myself for an hour or two in these situations with a camera, one lens and a tri-pod. A beach with some rocks and some driftwood and I’m happy for ages 😁

Here's another older presentation I found today,

The music track was called Dominions and was part of an album of Royalty free music we used to sell called Autumn. (no longer available) It was on the Medwyn Goodall label at the time. I don't think the artist was Medwyn Goodall though, because at the time he had a number of artists on his record label.
  16. When time permits, I’ll try and make a video on the style in the Cornwall AV. The base filter system for that sequence was Alien Skin

    Audacity

I’ve always used Audacity to record sound from videos, rather than seperate the sound, so personally I’ve never needed the ffmpeg, but the more the merrier I say
  18. I must admit that Claudio did me a favour here. Gave me a small project that was pleasant to do and filled in a little time I had. Iv’e always said that the best test of a slide show is if you can watch it again some years after you created it , and still enjoy watching it yourself.
  19. I have published a few older slide shows and converted them to 60p Mp4 Videos. You will find them on the page linked below. This also makes it clear why we should always make sure we save our project file and all of the content of our slide shows. Make a Back up in Zip of every completed show and store them off the PC. At least one of these shows was at least 10 years old, yet I have been able to open the project file and re-create them with the minimum of fuss. Some have been remade with a beta version of PTE-10 The web page can be found HERE
  20. Impressions is also now posted on THIS PAGE
  21. Thank you Claudio I always do a backup in zip when I finally complete a slide show. With that one file it’s easy to open a slide show from 10 years ago and continue working on it. It wasn’t a big job to adjust the shows up to HD size and Mp4 videos. Although the original images are not big enough to expand to fill the screen. That’s why the images appear on a border 😀
  22. I’ve always had a interest in this type of work, even before the digital age. I used to hand colour mono prints and scare the life out of judges who didn’t know what to say about them. 😀
  23. The Art of Cornwall and The Art of Photography have been re-created using PicturesToExe 10 beta version and posted on the page below called Miscellaneous Older AV. Impressions is also done, but will be posted later https://beckhamdigital.photo/misc-av/
  24. Claudio Unfortunately, you cannot recreate a slide show from an originally made executable file. To do that you must have the project files and related images and music. I’ll have Impressions stored somewhere. Regarding filters, time taken will reduce as you become more familiar with them. Try applying them to reduced sized images, sometimes you get a better result that way and it’s faster, especially if your not working on a state of the art PC
  25. I’ve had a bit of time today and I’ve found the project files of 2 of the old slide shows that Claudio refers to. They were The Art of Cornwall and The Art of Photography. I had to make a few changes, mainly to the end credits with the new web address and a change to Mp4 60p video. However, what I found is that although I made these sequences a while ago, I enjoyed revisiting them. I think that if you can watch one of your own slide shows some years later and you still find it OK, you must have done something right. Generally our skills improve and old work can quickly become dated I also appreciate that self praise is no praise at all 😀 I’ve recreated them using the beta version of PTE 10 and so far I’ve not seen any issues at all. I’ll post them as soon as possible. Not found the sequence called Impressions yet, but I must have it somewhere.
